Artist's Comments

I'm having the hardest time coming up with a title that would properly suit Professor McGonagall. :o

I don't have much to say about this one. It took me a couple days to finish, mostly because of how much shade I decided to give her. I'm pretty fond of how her expression came out. I had trouble keeping her eyes soft while making her features very 'carved' looking. I must say i'm happy with the result.

There's little idiot things wrong with this. Not so much with the figure but more with how I finished it. I'm not happy with that large white spot at the top but I could NOT get her hat done without it giving me hell so I stopped before I did something I'd regret later on. Her brooch doesn't look exactly how I wanted it too. But I guess I really can't complain too much about it. Like I said though, i'm happy with this. She came out almost exactly how I imagined her to look while reading the books.

Okay, enough babbling...
If you got any crits or suggestions, please let me have em! And as always, thank you for giving it a look.

I promise this'll be the last of the Harry Potter fanarts for a while. I just wanted to finally draw her. ;)

Niiice. :D Very severe, as you'd imagine McGonagall to be, but there's just enough hint of Spock-esque eyebrow motion in her expression to suggest at that razor-sharp wit. I also like how she's not a simple drawing of the actress from the films; it's more 'real' in a way to see an artist's own vision of the character, each seperate person's own personal take. Very cool stuff, Jenndo.

Great work!

Artistically speaking: the lower lip, under it but above the chin round part, should probably be a little couple of wrinkles. Just to give that 'pursed lips' feel? She does have a lot of personality though :)

Wow! This is great! Youve done a great job getting her contours correct. Especially the sagging chin. The hair is lovely too. I love it when people bother to draw each strand!

The evil eyebrows just complete the character though. Brilliant :)

And the hat, wouldnt worry about it. I like the white bit at the top, more of a feature than a blank spot. Like its been cropped off or something along those lines.

The more I look I keep spying new things. Like the soft white outline between her and her hat. Gives the definition a bit more. Excellent!

Damn! another awesome testement to your skill Jenn! The shading is amazing! And I like how you are able to vary the face to look like she is actually older! Nice! The hair again is just marvelously rendered! *strokes* You're gonna have to teach me how to do that sometimes. It may be because I'm not AS good as you, But I really don't see any major flaws. Awesome work Jenn :hugs:

Great stuff! I really like the effect all of those visible pencilmarks have on the picture as a whole. Gorgeous hair, per usual. ;) And I think you really nailed her eyes. One crit - her nose looks like there is a solid white stripe over the bridge and end, like it's not her skin.

Very nice. This is how I always pictured McGonagall to look like. Eerily enough, she reminds me of an old teacher I had in grade school :O_o:
