One thing this could really use is a few sharp highlights, especially on the hair closest to where your light source is, and maybe another on the back of the dragon's neck. I almost wish you had used a more neutral green for the dragon, letting the values create separation rather than the chroma (hue) difference. Also be careful with shadow values. The parts of the hair that are lit are actually darker in value than the shadows of the white cloth. All of that said, I can see you're definitely improving. I love your choices of colours for this one; they just fit so well with the line work. Sorry for blabbing on and on. I hope my comments were helpful. -- Avatar by =neekko Help||*watercolorists||#traditional I really like the detail you gave the scales on the dragon and the lineless background really set's the characters apart in the image.
Very nice work. I love the way you made the little dragon's wings see through.
-- How beautiful - I absolutely love that little dragon, and the cel-shading is gorgeous.
-- My family! GIANT ART SALE! Looks great Jenn!!! I love this pic.
-- ~Chris loving the little dragon so cute
-- "Only boring people say they are bored." -Rachel Ray So glad you finished it up, looks awesome.
-- When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is an idiot. I love the sharp contrast between her claret hair and the lime-greenness of the dragon--and the subtler green tone to her skin is a nice touch. :3 It doesn't act like a lurid opposite, like the dragon does. And I like her expression and the movement in this piece.
I'd crit, but I don't see that many flaws, personally. It's gorgeous. -A.C. -- No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between his shoulderblades will seriously cramp his style. -- Vlad Taltos (Writer: Steven Brust) |
