This lusty demon lass (Marou) is one of $damphyr's characters. I did the lines for this piece to be printed on the back cover of her Torn From Grace mini she'll be passing out at tomorrow's Free Comic Book Day. :boogie:

Kay did the gorgeous tones. The complete back cover has a lovely lacy background with an oval cutout framing Marou but my Photoshop did not want to cooperate and resize it without creating a really bizarre pattern that resembled puddles of ink. D'oh! You can see a sneak peek of the book at Penguin Palace. And keep an eye on ~TornFromGrace for the whole comic. If you're goin to be at CAPE, in Dallas, tomorrow make sure you stop by Kay's table. She'll have a white wig on and angel wings. Can't miss her. ;p

Got crits, lemme have em!

First off, well done. Your work lends itself well to more, erm... "sultry" subjects.

Once again my biggest issue with your line work is line weight inconsistency. Fabric with a lot of folds can be difficult to render correctly with just line, and you've done a pretty good job with it, but the lines don't help convey what comes forward and what recedes. The overlaps do some of that (for example, the right side of the picture where her arm is covered by one cut of fabric and rests on another), but the line weight would help push the fabric that is in front out more. The heavier outline you put around the edge of the drawing doesn't help to convey that; in fact, it hinders it by flattening everything to one two-dimensional plane. Her hair is another place that could be effective; the hair at the front of the head should have a heavier contour than the hair in the back. As it is now, the hair in the back has a heavier contour than the hand holding the apple and it takes focus away from that. The tail is another place where the line weights could be adjusted further.

I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record, but I think it's definitely something to take into consideration. A good use of line weight can add an extra bit of "push" to a drawing; it's one of the most effective ways to add life and energy to a picture regardless of subject matter.

Again, nice work, line weights need a bit of adjust-izing.
